Help/Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why should I choose Léman Traduction?

Choosing Léman Traduction for your translations is about choosing a freelance translator with a bachelor’s degree in multilingual communication and a master’s degree in translation and specialised multilingual communication from the faculty of translation and interpreting of the University of Geneva and previous professional experience in a Parisian translation agency.

Therefore, you are choosing:

  • excellent linguistic skills acquired in one of the best universities in the world and sharpened in the professional field for a high-quality translation
  • a service tailored to your needs and expectations
  • a direct human interaction with your language service provider which ensures clear communication and guarantees you fair rates
  • a member of the French Translators’ Association (SFT) committed to a code of ethics.

What services does Léman Traduction offer?

I can translate from English or Italian to French (my mother tongue).

I offer translation, revision and post-edition services in various fields: editorial, administration, arts and culture, cosmetics and patents.

Please note that I mainly work with the SDL Trados Studio 2022 software and Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2021.

What guarantee does Léman Traduction provide regarding the confidentialiy of my documents?

The translator is committed to professional confidentiality subject to the strict requirements of their own defence and in cases where the declaration or reassessment is required or permitted by law or with the client’s explicit consent. Professional confidentiality is related to any information and any document transmitted to the translator.

How can I request a quote?

To request a quote or ask for more information, please fulfil the contact form or contact me via email using the following address: contact@lemantraduction.com.

Additional information may be requested in order to establish the best quote.

If you send me your message between 9am and 6pm (CET), you should receive an answer within one hour (except during bank holidays, vacations and particular circumstances). I am available on weekends for emergencies but my response time could be longer than on week days.

What delivery deadline can I expect?

For a translation, the processing time depends on a variety of factors including the language combination, the volume to be translated (number of words) and the complexity of the text. On average a translator can process 1500 to 3000 words per day (depending on the difficulty of the documents). If your translation is urgently needed, I invite you to specify your deadline in your request.  An emergency rate can be applied.

What happens if I have a post-delivery question?

I obviously remain available if you need anything after the delivery.

You can contact me for any question about the translation (terminology, doubt about a translation choice…) or for any request for modification.

Unless otherwise specified in writing, any correction or modification not related to an error from the translator will be subject to additional billing on the basis of the applicable rate.

You may refer to the General Terms and Conditions of Services for further information.

How does Léman Traduction bill a translation?

Your bill will be sent with the final translation and needs to be paid within 30 (thirty) days from the date of issue.
